SUMMARY:31st Annual Coastal Cleanup Day
DESCRIPTION:Spend Saturday morning enjoying the coast while helping the environment by picking up trash. Hosted by Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in collaboration with the California Coastal Commission\, this event will be the 31st annual Coastal Cleanup Day. Every U.S. state and over 90 countries are engaging in the clean-up.  \nParticipants will meet on outer Cabrillo Beach at 9 am. Aquarium staff will provide bags\, instructions and light refreshments. In the spirit of keeping the event close to “zero waste\,” we ask volunteers to bring their own reusable buckets\, bags\, pillowcases\, gloves and water bottle if possible. And remember to check out the Styrofoam contest! \nAll participants must bring a signed waiver\, for children under the age of 18 the waiver needs to be signed by a parent or guardian. Or\, get adventurous and become part of the crew! \nAll proceeds from community sailing events help support our year-round educational programs for underserved youth throughout Southern California aboard the twin brigantines\, Irving Johnson and Exy Johnson – the Official Tall Ships of Los Angeles. \nReserve your spot now!
