DESCRIPTION:Multi Million Dollar renovated marina will host event celebrating the boating lifestyle\, with interactive exhibits and education for all ages. \nMarine enthusiasts from Southern California will experience the first boating lifestyle event in a reimagined harbor setting when the Southern California Boat show navigates its way to Cabrillo Way Marina in Los Angeles Harbor\, San Pedro (2293 Miner Street\, San Pedro CA) Thursday 22 – Sunday 25. \nThe 4 day boating event will feature more than 200 new and used boats of all types and price points\, including trawlers\, cruisers\, sportfishers\, sailboats\, catamarans\, motor yachts\, tenders and paddle boards\, along with 80 booths offering the newest accessories and gadgets\, educational seminars\, as well as a food and craft beer garden celebrating local San Pedro restaurants and breweries. Families will be encouraged to participate in marine activities created especially for little boaters.  \nAdmission: is $15 for adults; youth 12 and younger accompanied by an adult are free. Military receive a $5 discount with military ID. Tickets can be purchased at the box office. Show hours: Thursday\, 12pm-7:00pm; Friday-Sunday 12pm-5:00pm.

DESCRIPTION:September 25\, 2016 – Saturday\, October 01\, 2016 \nAs part of this special week set aside to raise the profile of a sea otters\, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium will provide visitors with the chance to get an “inside look” at this endangered species. In the Kelp Forest room in the Exhibit Hall\, there will be a table set up with sea otter specimens. Get inside a sea otter’s head by taking a close look at a skull and see if you notice anything unusual. There will also be a pelt on display showcasing the sea otter’s thick fur. Without blubber\, sea otters rely on their fur to keep warm in cold ocean water. Sea otters have the densest fur of any mammal with close to one million hairs per square inch!  \nSea Otter Awareness Week Display Schedule \n\nSunday\, September 25\, 1-3pm\nTuesday\, September 27\, 1-3pm\nWednesday\, September 28\, 1-3pm\nThursday\, September 29\, 1-3pm\nFriday\, September 30\, 1-3pm\nSaturday\, October 1\, 1-3pm\n\nAlso\, visit the Exploration Center where we will have a fully articulated sea otter skeleton on display all week. Come find out what a sea otter eats! There will be lots of specimens on display. \nSo stop by CMA during Sea Otter Awareness Week and learn more about their insides and outsides\, their important role in California’s kelp forest ecosystem\, the animals they eat and other fascinating sea otter facts!
