Something your child can take home and memories you can cherish. \n  \nOn Saturday May 20th and Sunday May 21st San Pedro Art Association’s own Debbie Sue Stinson will teach kids a class in mosaics. Debbie is a professional mosaic artist\, and a wonderful person to learn from. In fact she would like to invite you the parents to participate as well. \n  \nIf inspired to\, you may work with your child on a piece together. You may also work on one of your own. In fact\, we encourage the parents to participate in this fun event. \n  \nAll materials will be provided by The San Pedro Art Association. \n  \nThis class is open to ages 8 and up. Please RSVP to Debbie directly via voice or text at 310-612-1949 as space is limited. Please be sure to let her know how many will be attending including parents.

DESCRIPTION:In celebration of World Trade Week\, the Port of Los Angeles invites the community to the LA Waterfront to enjoy free public boat tours Saturday\, May 20\, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours depart every 30 minutes from two locations: the Los Angeles Maritime Museum in San Pedro and Banning’s Landing Community Center in Wilmington. \n“World Trade Week is a great opportunity to welcome our local residents and visitors to the waterfront for a spectacular view of the nation’s busiest port in action\,” said Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka. “The water is the best vantage point from which to take in the breathtaking size and scope of this remarkable engine that powers the U.S. economy.” \nThe Port of Los Angeles has been offering free World Trade Week tours to the public for more than two decades.  This year’s tours are an hour long\, and seats are available on a first-come\, first-served basis. No reservations are needed. \nThe Los Angeles Maritime Museum is located at 600 Sampson Way\, Berth 84\, in San Pedro. Banning’s Landing Community Center is located at 100 E. Water St. in Wilmington. Boats at both locations are wheelchair accessible and have restrooms on board. \nResident and visitors are encouraged to explore the LA Waterfront’s parks\, public art and other cultural and historical attractions. These include the Cruise Ship Promenade\, the Gateway Plaza Fanfare Fountains\, the Battleship IOWA\, the Los Angeles Maritime Museum\, the S.S. Lane Victory and the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. \nThe LA Waterfront also offers multiple dining and shopping options at Ports O’ Call Village\, historic downtown San Pedro and CRATED at the Port of Los Angeles. CRAFTED is a permanent artisan marketplace housed in the Port’s classically restored 1940’s-era Warehouse No. 10. \nFor more than 90 years\, World Trade Week – an initiative of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce – has been the nation’s most extensive and unique program of its kind dedicated to educating the public about the importance and benefits of global trade to the local and U.S. economy. Related events and programs are held throughout Southern California every year in May coinciding with World Trade Month.
