DESCRIPTION:Improvisational Jazz with the Scott Heustis Group \nGuitarist Scott Heustis is a post-genre explorer who includes elements of jazz\, rock\, world music\, avant-garde\, and experimental music in his playing. At this show he’ll collaborate with drummer Stephen Hodges\, upright bassist Tony Green\, and keyboard player R. Scott for an evening of daring instrumental fireworks. \nMeet the Scott Heustis Group\, a collective of musical innovators who break musical barriers with their sonic dialogue:\n* The leader is guitarist Heustis\, a veteran of the Southern California underground improvising scene and a Long Beach native. \n* At this show he’ll be joined by Stephen Hodges on drums and percussion. Another Long Beach native\, he is known for playing with Tom Waits (Swordfishtrombones\, Rain Dogs)\, Mavis Staples\, Jackson Browne\, and the Twin Peaks soundtracks for David Lynch. A true creative visionary. \n* Tony Greenbrings an eclectic but soulful attitude to the bass\, from which he coaxes beautiful\, lingering tones. He owns and operates Ear Gallery Music Studio in Mt. Washington\, and is highly regarded for his musical taste and acumen. \n* Keyboardist R. Scott is a highly versatile musician\, improviser\, and composer. His 2021 release “Faul! -The Musical”\, about the infamous Paul is Dead conspiracy\, is being adapted into a short film. In this workshop\, families will combine meaningful symbols and colors to create an abstract family portrait that tells a visual tale of their memories\, values \, and connections .
