DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 2025 Los Angeles Wildlife Center OPEN HOUSE at International Bird Rescue! This is your chance to see the Brown Pelicans that have come into care as we address the current 2025 Brown Pelican Crisis. \nThis year\, our Open House is part of Urban Birds 2025\, a partnership with Angels Gate Cultural Center and Synchromy Music to celebrate the intersection of art and science in wildlife conservation. This unique festival will offer visitors a seamless experience of engaging performances\, hands-on workshops\, and informative talks. \nThe Open House portion of the festival will showcase our work saving the birds we love. Catch a glimpse of birds in care\, meet our dedicated staff\, learn from education stations and informative talks\, and connect with community partners. \nVIEWING STATION\nSee our outdoor bird care facility and learn about the rescue\, rehabilitation\, and release of injured and orphaned aquatic birds\, including the specialized care they receive from our expert team. \nEDUCATION STATIONS\nWe’ll have education stations detailing different types of bird diets\, teaching us about marine debris\, and a bird-making craft table for the kids. \nENGAGING TALKS\nJoin our Bird Rescue clinic staff for enlightening talks on rescue\, rehabilitation\, conservation\, and how you can make a difference! \nCOMMUNITY PARTNERS\nWe’ll be proudly hosting our local community partners\, to teach us about conservation and of course\, birds birds birds! \nThe arts-focused portion of the festival will feature live performances\, music\, and hands-on arts activities designed to explore the center through a processing performance. An immersive\, multi-act work explores humanity’s relationship with birds\, petroleum\, and ecological crisis through art\, music\, and movement. It will feature dynamic compositions and performances inspired by the natural world\, offering a truly interdisciplinary experience that will resonate with both art enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
