The band won a Grammy for its 2011 album Genuine Negro\, and in 2013 he earned the title Living Blues Most Outstanding Musician for banjo from Living Blues Magazine. \nFlemons has been performing solo since 2014. His music brings to life nearly 100 years of American folklore\, ballads\, and tunes. On stage\, he easily rolls from one instrument to another\, adding just enough historical context and commentary. Our auction will be unlike any other\, all items will be artist created curiosities made especially for the event.  \nGuests will be enticed by the food of a local chef\, enjoy libations\, curious music\, a unique photo booth experience\, a poet composing Poems for Strangers\, indubitably cool artist-made party favors\, and more. \nAll proceeds benefit the restoration of our WWII army base buildings. here at Cultural Center where art is made\, taught\, exhibited and supported.  \nA Wake at the Gate: Cabinets of Curiosities will be an evening to mingle with artists and arts advocates.
