DESCRIPTION:Reception for We Are Home:\nA Community Quilt Project \nJoin us in celebrating We Are Home: A Community Quilt Project\, led by SoLA\, South LA Contemporary Gallery. This past month\, quilt-block workshops led by SoLA and hosted at AGCC\, brought our communities together in making a participatory quilt. This reception will display the final assembled quilt made possible by donated hand-made quilt blocks from workshop participants\, each a personal reflection of home and community.\nIn this ongoing project\, SoLA is inviting all Los Angeles area residents to participate in a community-based art endeavor by donating quilt blocks that share reflections of Home. The assembled quilt will tour local community spaces. Concluding the We Are Home quilt exhibition tour\, individual quilt blocks will be auctioned and all proceeds will be donated to homeless-serving organizations. Learn more about the project and SoLA on their website at www.solacontemporary.org.\nJoin us on Saturday\, October 30th from 4-6pm in G Classroom to view the quilt\, hear from the project organizer\, SoLA\, and meet some of the community members who shared their quilt block creations with the project.\nPlease RSVP at eventbrite.\nA mask covering both nose and mouth\, and contact-tracing check-in\, will be required at the reception. Capacity indoors will be limited and the reception will extend outdoors.\n4-6pm\, G Classroom\nAfter the reception\, join us for Scary Stories from 6:30 -8pm!
