SUMMARY:69th Annual Easter Sunrise Service
DESCRIPTION:The 69th Annual Easter Sunrise Service will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park\, Rancho Palos Verdes\, on Easter Sunday\, April 16\, 2017 beginning at 6:00 am. This annual event draws approximately two thousand worshipers and has been celebrated annually at Green Hills since 1948. \nThe multi-denominational service is sponsored by Green Hills Memorial Park and is held in conjunction with the San Pedro Pastor’s Fellowship. Several area pastors and ministers from various denominations throughout the Harbor-Peninsula area will be participating in this celebration. Among them is Pastor Milton S. Herring of Living Word Christian Church in Torrance\, who will offer this year’s Easter message. There will also be musical selections by the Bethany Christian Fellowship Worship Team. \nLocated on a bluff high within the memorial park\, the gathered congregation experiences one of the most spectacular views of the peninsula as the sun rises and casts daylight over the harbor and ocean. This annual Easter Sunrise Service at Green Hills Memorial Park is recognized as the largest multi-denominational service in the South Bay. \nThe gates will open at 5:00 am. \nRefreshments will be provided before and after the service. All are invited to attend.

DESCRIPTION:“One Man Band” Rob Flax uses live looping of violin\, percussion\, and other instruments. \nRob Flax is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and educator from Evanston\, IL with a playful heart and an open mind. He has performed locally\, nationally\, and internationally with groups of many different styles\, including opening for B.B. King and Tower of Power\, collaborations with dancers and filmmakers (including work on the soundtrack of James Franco’s film As I Lay Dying)\, and several original projects. Rob is a recent graduate of the New England Conservatory (M.M. 2012 – Contemporary Improvisation\, Music In Education)\, a dance accompanist at the Boston Conservatory\, and he currently teaches both group and private lessons in the greater Boston area.
