SUMMARY:118th Iowa by the Sea Picnic
DESCRIPTION:All Iowans and individuals who have a connection with the State of Iowa are invited to attend the 118th Iowa By The Sea Picnic.   Picnic will be held on the pier in front of Battleship IOWA on August 11\, 2018 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.  It is planned that we will be at the  bow of the ship  which offers a safe\, secure area with a  great view  of the  battleship and the Los Angeles harbor which generally provides a nice breeze for our event.\n We are finalizing our plans for this year’s Iowa By The Sea Picnic. Feel free to check our progress on the Picnic Information Page and our Facebook page.  We continue to enhance the picnic experience and are incorporating suggestions from each year’s attendees from the Evaluation/Comment forms submitted.  Our picnic is a family-oriented\, non-alcoholic event with an emphasis on fun\, camaraderie and safety for all of our guests. For parking\, The first hour is FREE and every additional hour thereafter is $2.00. \nRegular admission rates will apply to all daily tours.   Food and beverages will be available at an additional fee.

SUMMARY:Placentia Symphonic Band on the Deck of the Battleship IOWA
DESCRIPTION:“Music Under the Guns”\n \nThe Placentia Symphonic Band\, under the direction of John & Collette Hausey\, will present a “Music Under the Guns” performance on the deck of Battleship USS Iowa in Los Angeles Harbor. The band will perform on the open fantail area at the stern of the ship. Admission to the the concert is free. Parking is free for the first hour and $2 per hour there after. \nAll family members and friends of the PSB can purchase a highly discounted ticket for the tour at the front ticket window the day of the performance. If you are going to attend\, wear a hat\, sunglasses\, sunscreen\, and comfortable walking shoes (no sandals).
