In lieu of the traditional fireworks show\, the Cabrillo Beach Boosters\, a non-profit organization\, with the support of the Port of LA and other sponsors\, will host the John Olguin Drone Light Show on Saturday\, July 6 at 9:30 p.m. over Cabrillo Beach. This fireworks-alternative light show is people\, pet and environmentally friendly\, in honor of the late John Olguin’s legacy. For those who cannot attend the drone show or would just like to enhance their experience\, tune in to KCLA San Pedro 100.7 to listen to the live show.

Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture Kodak moments and your sandcastle handiwork.  \nIf you don’t have beach building tools on hand\, stop by the Gift Shop for supplies. While you’re here visit the Aquarium exhibit hall\, which features 37 tanks containing the largest collection of Southern California marine life in the world and a touch tank that provides up-close encounters with local marine life.

DESCRIPTION:Relive your favorite memories and create new ones during CMA’s Family Sandcastle Building Day. \nAll you need to bring is your best sandcastle building tools\, a little shovel and bucket\, and your castle creativity to this fun beach event. The sand on Cabrillo Beach will be thoroughly wet down to prepare for sand construction; the rest is up to you! \nAll castle styles are welcome: moats\, draw bridges\, spires\, windows\, turrets\, let your imagination run wild\, but most importantly\, have a great time at the beach with family and loved ones. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture Kodak moments and your sandcastle handiwork. \nThis is a free event open to everyone.

DESCRIPTION:Watch the silvery fish come up on the beach to spawn! Learn about the interesting mating rituals and growth of this curious fish. The Aquarium opens at 8 pm and an auditorium program begins at 9\, followed by guided observation at the beach. Warm clothing and a flashlight are recommended. April and May are closed season. March\, June and July are open season\, when grunion may be taken by hand only and a valid California fishing license must be displayed if you are 16 years or older. \n$5 adults\, $1 seniors\, students and children.\nFRIENDS Members: FREE \n*The CMA Gift Shop will be open late for guests.
