Enjoy live music including the unique jazz stylings of Harold Greene on the Chapman Stick\, the Japanese Drum troop Kokoro Taiko and the smooth sounds of Stucco Rainbow. Watch for “Eagle-eye” Greg\, birder extraordinaire\, the spectacular display by the Los Angeles City Fireboat and “Scuba Mike” demonstrating equipment used by scuba divers – the opportunities for fun are endless. \nThis event is FREE.

DESCRIPTION:September 25\, 2016 – Saturday\, October 01\, 2016 \nAs part of this special week set aside to raise the profile of a sea otters\, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium will provide visitors with the chance to get an “inside look” at this endangered species. In the Kelp Forest room in the Exhibit Hall\, there will be a table set up with sea otter specimens. Get inside a sea otter’s head by taking a close look at a skull and see if you notice anything unusual. There will also be a pelt on display showcasing the sea otter’s thick fur. Without blubber\, sea otters rely on their fur to keep warm in cold ocean water. Sea otters have the densest fur of any mammal with close to one million hairs per square inch!  \nSea Otter Awareness Week Display Schedule \n\nSunday\, September 25\, 1-3pm\nTuesday\, September 27\, 1-3pm\nWednesday\, September 28\, 1-3pm\nThursday\, September 29\, 1-3pm\nFriday\, September 30\, 1-3pm\nSaturday\, October 1\, 1-3pm\n\nAlso\, visit the Exploration Center where we will have a fully articulated sea otter skeleton on display all week. Come find out what a sea otter eats! SUMMARY:31st Annual Coastal Cleanup Day
DESCRIPTION:Spend Saturday morning enjoying the coast while helping the environment by picking up trash. Hosted by Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in collaboration with the California Coastal Commission\, this event will be the 31st annual Coastal Cleanup Day. Every U.S. state and over 90 countries are engaging in the clean-up.  \nParticipants will meet on outer Cabrillo Beach at 9 am. Aquarium staff will provide bags\, instructions and light refreshments. In the spirit of keeping the event close to “zero waste\,” we ask volunteers to bring their own reusable buckets\, bags\, pillowcases\, gloves and water bottle if possible. And remember to check out the Styrofoam contest! \nAll participants must bring a signed waiver\, for children under the age of 18 the waiver needs to be signed by a parent or guardian.
