Grammy-Nominated Perla Batalla returns to the Annex with her outstanding homage to her mentor, the late song-writer Leonard Cohen. Hear Cohen deep-dives as well as the classics Bird on a Wire, Anthem and Hallelujah along with songs inspired by her childhood spent at her family’s Discoteca Batalla record shop in Venice.

For nearly a decade, Batalla sang backup and toured with Leonard Cohen, who said, “Onstage, offstage, digital or analog, I love Perla Batalla.” Her astonishing and versatile voice has been in demand since then – adding her signature richness to a host of singers from Lou Reed, to the Gypsy Kings, to kd lang and many more.
