Love Call is a collaborative trio consisting of NYC saxophonist Max Bessesen, Chicago bassist Ethan Philion, and Milwaukee drummer Devin Drobka. The trio has a distinctive musical approach marked by a congenial sense of trust and an intuitive group language. Their performances feature free improvisation and melodic compositions.

Philion is praised by the Washington Post for his “astounding musicality” while Bessesen is described by JAZZIZ as “stirringly emotive.” Chicago Reader calls Drobka’s playing “pithy..There isn’t much that sounds like this today.”
