Chanukah Celebration-Harbor Promenade

Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day celebration commemorating the victory of light over darkness and the miracle of the oil in the Holy Temple. When the Jewish people rededicated the Temple, they found only one cruse of undefiled oil—enough to burn for a single day. Miraculously, it burned for eight days and nights, until new oil could be prepared.

To celebrate, we light the nine-branched Menorah, adding one candle each night until all eight are kindled. This timeless ritual reminds us that even a small amount of light can dispel a great deal of darkness, and that miracles can happen in every generation.

Join us for San Pedro’s 5th Annual Chanukah Celebration, a welcoming community gathering to mark the Festival of Lights together. We’ll light the 6-foot Menorah, enjoy fresh latkes and doughnuts, and share the music, warmth, and joy that make Chanukah so special.

It’s a relaxed, family-friendly evening for all ages, with a great atmosphere, fun activities, and beautiful views on the Harbor Promenade. The event is free and open to everyone, and it’s a wonderful way to celebrate Chanukah with friends, neighbors, and the wider community.
