Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Leadership Award
Tim McOsker is a lifelong San Pedro community member who has dedicated his career to improving the quality of life for all Angelenos. Tim has a long history of serving the Harbor Area, in many critical leadership roles over his three decades of experience in government. He and his wife Connie have been supporters of the Aquarium for many years.

DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR EMERITUS OF BIOLOGY, PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY
John M. Olguin Marine Environment Award
Dr. Karen Martin is a former professor of biology at Pepperdine University. During her career, she researched beach-spawning fishes including the illustrious grunion! She founded the Grunion Greeters, a team of volunteer citizen scientists to monitor grunion populations, which has played a crucial role in increasing public awareness and improving management efforts to protect and conserve wildlife and beach habitats. She also helped found the Beach Ecology Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining healthy beaches by balancing conservation and recreational use.
